Summer is a great time to travel. Sunny weather, beautiful beaches, long days, and lively nightlife it’s really the best time for a holiday. Europe is bustling this time of year, and offers an ambience and experience you and your family will never forget. Not sure where to go? Here are some of the best European cities to visit next summer:

  • Rome, Italy

Rome the capital of Italy is a lively, cosmopolitan city with plenty of things to see and do. It also has some of the most beautiful, ancient architecture in the world, but it’s so much more than that the food, the culture, the ambience, and the surrounding scenery make for a great holiday. Speaking of food gelato, pasta, pizza, are just some of the tasty treats your family can enjoy. Marvel at the Colosseum, make a wish and toss a coin in the Trevi Fountain, or take a train ride to Santa Marinella beach.

  • Stockholm, Sweden

Even though most of the locals migrate for the summer, Stockholm is as lively as ever. It’s one of the best European cities to visit during summer – with free concerts and festivals, green parks, and loads of atmosphere. You can take a swim right in the city centre, watch an outdoor movie screening, and sip a latte at Drop Coffee (rated the third best coffee shop in the world). Kids will enjoy marvelling at stunning Royal Palace, visiting the Skansen open-air museum (with children’s zoo) and admiring the gorgeous views from Kaknastornet tower.

  • Reykjavík, Iceland

Reykjavík, the capital and largest city of Iceland, is characterised by eclectic and colourful houses with good shopping, dining, and sightseeing. Reykjavík is one of the best European cities to visit if you prefer cooler summers. It’s also the starting destination for most tours around the exciting countryside. Soak in the hot waters of the Blue Lagoon, marvel at the panoramic view of downtown Reykjavik from the top of Hallgrimskirkja Church, try new cuisine, and book the popular Golden Circle tour to see the best of Iceland.

  • Bruges, Belgium

Bruges, a fairytale medieval town in Northwest Belgium, is an enchanting destination for travellers of all ages. Families can take a canal tour, enjoy some tasty Belgian waffles at one of the many cafes, or go on a horse-drawn carriage and shop up a storm at the ‘Markt’. You’ll enjoy strolling through the picturesque cobbled lanes, exploring the medieval architecture and fascinating museums (there are museums dedicated to chocolate and Belgian potato fries). If you don’t feel like walking, you can hire a bicycle and cycle along the canal.
