Mallorca is a great destination for families. What’s not to love? The stunning island has sunny weather, pristine coves, hidden caves, charming castles, and long sandy beaches with a huge variety of watersports. To make planning your family holiday easier, we made this list of some of the best family-friendly things to do in Mallorca:

Beaches

Playa de Muro

Spending a day at the beach is one of the cheapest and most enjoyable things to do in Mallorca. Playa de Muro beach is a long stretch of fine, white sand with shallow blue waters (perfect for families with younger children). Its blue flag status makes it quite popular with both tourists and locals. It also boasts all the convenient amenities, including access for people with disabilities, showers, sun loungers, and parasols. The beach, located on the north coast of the island, also offers all sorts of watersports for both kids and adults.

Port de Pollença

Port de Pollença is one of the most popular family resorts in Mallorca and offers great activities, beaches, bars, and restaurants. The beach is long and wide, with stretches of golden sands and wonderful views of the hills in the background. Families can explore the waters by hiring a Velomar, a banana boat, or a kayak at one of the nearby stands.

Water and amusement parks

Jungle Parc

Test your adventurous spirit by climbing, weaving, and swinging from tree to tree at this fun-filled treetop adventure park. The park includes rope walking, climbing, zip-lining, and so much more. It has three courses with different levels of difficulty for kids and adults of all ages (four years and up).

Western Water Park

Enjoy a fun-filled day at this Western-style water park, located in Magaluf, a 30-minute drive from Palma. Families with kids of all ages can enjoy thrilling water slides (including the highest slide in Mallorca), swimming pools and a number of exciting shows with the Western-divers and Cowboy themed shows being the most popular. We recommend wearing a pair of flip-flops when walking to the next activity, as the ground gets really hot in summer.

Aqualand El Arenal

Mallorca’s largest water park has something for every member of the family. The park features exhilarating water slides, a jacuzzi, mini-golf, a wave pool, and a special kiddies playground. Younger kids will love Dragonland, while older kids might prefer the more daring Kamikaze and Tornado.

Things to see and explore

Coves del Drac

Visitors of all ages will feel like Indiana Jones at this must-see tourist attraction. The guided tour, accompanied by multilingual commentary, includes a boat trip in the underground Lake Martel (one of the largest underground lakes in the world), with a stop at the amphitheatre where you can enjoy a 10-minute classical musical recital.

Caves d' Arta

Caves d' Arta is an enchanting network of caverns, situated on the coast of Capdepera. In the ‘Queen of Columns’ room, you’ll find a 22-metre stalagmite. The guided tour comes with special effects and the various chambers are given Dantesque names Hell, Purgatory, Paradise it sounds creepy, but it’s a beautiful sight to behold.

Castell de Bellver

People of all ages are enchanted by castles, from a young age we’ve been intrigued by stories of kings and queens, and brave knights. Castell de Bellver is a 14th-century castle with a unique circular design the only of its kind in Spain. Visitors can marvel at the Gothic architecture, or admire superb views of the Bay of Palma from the roof. The ground floor has a museum for those who want to know more about the history.

Palma Aquarium

With all the amazing things to do in Mallorca, it might seem strange to list an aquarium, but this isn’t just any aquarium. Palma Aquarium features a touch pool, which allows visitors to touch and learn about the marine life. It’s also home to the biggest shark tank in Europe, which allows qualified scuba divers to swim with the sharks. There are plenty of other things to see and do, including shark sleepovers, a beautiful Mallorcan garden, and a soft play area and pirate ship for the kids.
