Planning family holidays to Majorca can be both challenging and exciting – with so much to see and do, how do you choose? Majorca is not just sun, sand, and sea – it’s also brimming with culture, historical attractions, and fine restaurants. To help you get the best of both worlds, we’ve created a 3-day itinerary for the most unforgettable family holidays to Majorca:

Day 1:

Arrival

After arriving at Palma de Mallorca Airport, you can take the free airport transfer to Ferrer Janeiro Spa & Hotel. Just remember to book four days in advance on our website. Once you arrive at the hotel, you can check-in and get settled. If you want some time to unpack and unwind, book the kids in at the hotel’s Mini Club. You could take some time to get oriented around the hotel, but if you’re ready to start exploring, here are some of our recommendations:

Morning/afternoon

Spend a day at Ca’n Picafort beach – Ferrer Janeiro Spa & Hotel is located just metres away from this beautiful, family-friendly beach. Most of the beach has soft white sand, with clear entry into the sea. There are a variety of watersports for people of all ages to enjoy – including banana boats, jet-skiing, stand-up paddle boarding, and windsurfing.

Afternoon/evening

Explore the town of Alcudia – Alcudia is a beautiful town with atmospheric old streets and long sandy beaches. Families can visit the Roman ruins of Pollentia, cool off at Hidropark (Alcudia’s very own waterpark), or go for an exhilarating go-karting session in Bellevue.

Day 2:

Morning

Go sightseeing in Palma – After enjoying a continental buffet breakfast at the hotel, visitors can head over to Majorca’s buzzing capital. Marvel at Palma Cathedral Le Seu, a striking gothic landmark that took 500 years to build – or feel like royalty at the Royal Palace of La Almudaina, a beautiful structure that was home to Majorcan monarchs in the early 14th century. Palma offers many other tourist attractions, catering to travellers of all ages.

Afternoon

Try some Majorcan cuisine – If you’re feeling fancy, you can treat your family to a meal at Michelin-starred restaurant, Marc Fosh. The 3-course lunch menu is 27.50 euros, which is quite a bargain for a meal by one of the best-known chefs in Palma. After lunch, head down to Palma Aquarium – one of the biggest and most attractive aquariums in Europe. The aquarium is home to around 700 different species.

Evening

Watch a pirate show –  After a glorious day of sightseeing, watch the swashbuckling show, Pirates Adventure, at the main deck in Magaluf. Both kids and adults will enjoy this entertaining display of acrobatics and gymnastics, that is packed with both thrills and comedy. The show includes supper, free drinks, and an ice cream cup.

Day 3:

Morning

Explore Majorca’s mountainside – The Serra de Tramuntana is one of the most spectacular landscapes in the world. The drive alone is worth it – with awe-inspiring views, snaking roads, and pine-covered slopes. The mountains are great for hiking and cycling, so grab your sun hats and get read for a morning filled with adventure. Visitors can hire bicycles at the bicycle garage in front of the hotel.

Afternoon

Go snorkelling – When planning family holidays to Majorca, it feels mandatory to include a snorkelling trip. The crystal-clear waters in Palma, Santa Ponsa, Porto Cristo, Cala Ratjada, and Puerto Pollensa make it ideal for snorkelling. You can admire the island’s marine life on one of the main beaches, or you can can go on a snorkelling trip with an accredited snorkelling guide, and enjoy a boat tour to a marine reserve or isolated beach.

Evening

Relax and unwind – After a long day of adventure, head back to the hotel for a delicious dinner on the terrace, or enjoy an all-you-can-eat meal at the buffet restaurant. Drop the kids off at the Mini Club for some child-friendly entertainment, and enjoy the services of Ferrer Vital Spa. Guests can relax in the jacuzzi or Turkish bath, or unwind with a heavenly massage.
